What is the Fastest Route from Vancouver, WA to Seattle?

2019 Jeep Cherokee Driving

Seattle is one of the most exciting cities on the west coast; home of the first Starbucks, Pike Street Market, the Chihuly Museum, Seattle Center, the Space Needle, and so much more. If you’re planning to head north to the Emerald City from Vancouver, WA, get there faster with one of these routes to spend more of your trip enjoying the sights and less stressing over your journey.

  • Hitting the Highway: Vancouver is only 167 miles south of Seattle, making it a great day trip. Just load up your sweet new ride and get on I-5 north. The drive takes just 2-1/2 hours if you miss rush hour and construction.
  • Hop on a Bus: If your car is in the shop or you prefer to let someone else do the driving, you can always hop on a bus. An express trip on Greyhound will take about 4 hours one-way and give you a better view of Portland and Beaverton along the way.
  • Travel by Train: Amtrak has regular services running between Vancouver and Seattle on the Amtrak Cascades line. The trip takes just over 3 hours.
  • Take to the Skies:If you’re really in a hurry, you can head down to PDX and catch a flight to Seattle on one of the commute jets leaving every few hours. The trip costs more than driving, but you’ll get there in just about 45 minutes, so it might be worth it.
